The Memory Meme
1. Are you someone who keeps memory boxes and makes scrapbooks?
Yes...although I haven't scrapbooked in quite some time...
2. What is your most disturbing memory?
my most disturbing memory...is what I don't remember. My last pregnancy was twin boys...they were born 15 weeks early; Kyle was crushed when my water broke and Kraig was taken immediately to the NICU (where he spent the next 11 weeks). I have pictures of holding Kyle...but I have no memory of my own of holding him, seeing him, looking at him. When I try to remember, what I see is the pictures...no "first person" viewpoint. It sucks. Like you wouldn't believe.
3. What is the one thing you will always remember about your childhood?
that we moved....ALOT...my dad was in the army...we lived in Germany twice and two other army bases I can think of before I was in middle school. I hated it.
4. When you drive down memory lane for the last five years of your life, is it a happy journey or a bumpy ride?
up until 2010, I thought it was a happy journey...maybe a few bumps here and there...but last year to present has been pretty rocky...hoping it will smooth out soon
5. What is the last thing you memorized?
I don't know...probably a phone number maybe? I have a pretty crappy memory (too many years working night shift, I guess)...so I have to write everything down..and then remember where I wrote it. My day planner IS my life.
6. Tell us about a dream you remember.
I have two, but neither are very pleasant. One doesn't make sense...and the other was based on a fear at the time. You can read about the nonsensical one here...and the other was during the time that Kraig was in the NICU...I had a dream that there were two tombstones at the cemetary. The only time I ever had dreams like that were the days I wasn't able to see him (which were few, and only due to illness and weather).
7. On this Memorial Day is there someone you'd like to honor and remember?
no....just incredibly grateful to all members of the armed forces and their families who sacrifice all they have for the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy.
